Skavoovie

I was wondering where i might be able to find out more info on Skavoovie nights. In the leaflet handed out at the o2 gig is said that by popular demand Skavoovie would be making a return once a month, which is fab I know it did say that you could leave details at the merchandise stall, but didn't actually notice that bit until i was on my way home

Hopefully it will be somewhere central, like Bar 'Rumba' and 'Pop' were, but we shall wait and see...

Would be great if it could be a venue like Bar Rhumba was, was a good atmosphere and an ideal set up really. Will be good to have Skavoovie back again though

So the plan has actually gone 'no-where' in best part of six months....

It looks as though Skavoovie will be the first Thursday of every month at the Amersham Arms, in New Cross.

More details (and confirmation) to follow.

So do The Dualers play all of these Thursdays? I've not attended Skavoovie before so don't really know much about it! hopefully I can drag a friend along at some point

They will play there the first Thursday of every month.

There is a stage, a big dance floor and a bar.

While access isn't too bad for South Londoners, being close to New Cross rail station (if you can find a train that stops there), it's not an area I (mature 'wasp' male) would choose to travel to/from on a dark evening - though the indigenous population may find the reggae content of the Dualers' music appealing.

As Chirasin said though, if you're driving there, forget it. Is the East London line with it's half-hourly evening service still running?

Judging by the info on transport links (and taxi fares) on their website, and local knowledge of the area, one might hope that an alternative venue can be found.

Unfortunately, I don't think that's likely.

I did like the locality of Bar Rumba.

Just wondered how many of the Dualers' female followers really fancy trekking home from New Cross late in the evening, notwithstanding the quality of the entertainment!
